I was eavesdropping on a conversation between two women when they said that statement. “Hurt People Hurt People” was how it sounded, no commas. In my head, I started repeating those two words rapidly through my neural network. “HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE HURT PEOPLE.” A two worded never ending cycle that deeply reflects our reality. Then I began wondering who thought of putting those two words together? What woman was it, with her heightened sense of emotional Self, realized what has been going on for multiple millenniums? What does “Hurt People, Hurt People” sound like in Greek or Latin? Was it an American or British woman? Or has this adage been with us this in different languages and just so happened to translate to two words x2?
As this site grows, we will dig deeper into subjects like this phrase. For now, this has been a reminder that life has been difficult for all of us. You were hurt by a hurt person…- now break the cycle. Be kind to that homeless person who is spazzing out in public. Let that guy bump you on the sidewalk, think of it as a football drill without shoulder pads. Let go of your hurt and allow yourself more fun. “Fuck you nigga” is what you read in “fun” if you’re still hurting. Smile! :D
